Let your mind wander back to a time when you celebrated yourself. Perhaps it was your wedding day, your college graduation, or the start of a new job. Those memories are precious and worth recognizing, but why limit yourself to major milestones?

You are worthy of celebrating every day! In fact, celebrating yourself is vital to your well-being. Whether that’s surviving another day with emotional toddlers, finishing a long-dreaded assignment, or sticking to your workout routine, it’s important to acknowledge your accomplishments. Join us as we explore the reasons why.

It helps you enjoy the journey

Many of us are guilty of taking life too seriously. It’s true that if you’re constantly doing and not being, you can miss out on many wonderful moments. If you’ve ever felt like you’ve caught up in your goals and ambitions, it’s time to stop and celebrate what you’ve already accomplished. Remember that life is a journey, not a destination, that’s why it’s so crucial to enjoy it every step of the way.

It encourages more positivity (and we all need that)

Take a moment to appreciate your incredible qualities, and watch as positivity and self-confidence begin to flow through your veins. Embracing who you are, flaws and all, is the key to radiating positivity and boosting your relationships, both personal and professional.

Those who treat themselves with kindness and respect naturally extend the same grace to others. So, by simply brightening your own mood, you could unknowingly brighten someone else’s day.

Small wins lead to bigger ones

It may sound cliche, but every little victory does set the stage for even great accomplishments. That’s why even seemingly small wins should get as much attention as big successes. When you recognize what you’ve already managed to accomplish, you get an extra dose of motivation, which, consequently, can push you forward. It can be as simple as:

  • Doing something kind for someone else
  • Learning a new skill
  • Simply having a badass day
  • Taking care of your health
  • Making progress on your goal

Now that you’ve learned why it’s so important to celebrate your small victories, here’s how you can do it.

Write down your accomplishments

Start by going back in time and reliving all the moments you felt proud of yourself, no matter how small they might seem now. From learning to ride a bike to acing a test, every achievement counts.

Let the memories flood back as you write them down chronologically, allowing yourself to be surprised by how much you’ve accomplished. Don’t be intimidated by the task, as it’s an opportunity to celebrate your unique journey and the progress you’ve made.

If you don’t have as much time to relive all of your amazing accomplishments, you can simply reflect on your day. Perhaps you had a productive job meeting. Or – you managed to be patient with your little ones. Everything counts! You can use the B section of your Cloudberry planner to practice this task.

Create a playlist

There’s something magical about music. It can transport us to a different time and pace, evoking memories we thought were long forgotten. So how can you use this to your advantage?

Think back to the times in your life when you feel on top of the world. Perhaps it was your wedding day. Or – your graduation day. What songs were blasting in the background? Add them to your playlist. Whenever you’re feeling low, listen to it and see how your confidence returns!

Take a break

Don’t wait for a birthday or a holiday to throw yourself a party. Take a day off from the daily grind and – if you have little ones – hire a sitter to watch the kiddos and make it a YOU day!

This isn’t just any mental health day (although those are super important, too), this is a day to celebrate the fabulousness that is you! Treat yourself to a shopping spree, go on a hike, indulge in a sweet ice cream cone, or get those nails done (or do all three because you deserve it!).

We challenge you – find something to celebrate about yourself today! For more well-being tips and tricks, visit our Cloudberry journal.
